IT IS TIME FOR THE ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CRAFT AND FOOD FAIR!
We are currently making plans for this year's Craft and Food Fair! We look forward to seeing all of our guests and vendors from our Greater Salt Lake Community as they come out to support this charitable event.
This year's event will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2006 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, located at 5335 South Highland Dr. in Salt Lake City, UT.
Whether you are a Booth participant or a guest, you will enjoy a day of entertainment, good food and most importantly, be able to view and purchase items and/or services from the many vendors who participate. We had approximately 1000 people come to last year's event and we hope for larger numbers this year.
Examples of the different types of Booths you will see are as follows: Homemade Crafts, Stained Glass Items, Confectionaries, Gift Baskets, Jewelry, Spa/Health Services, Latest Innovative Products, etc. The day will also feature entertainment, dancing and more! Refreshments, as well as, lunch and dinner will also be available for purchase.
We encourage you to be a Vendor at this year's Christmas Craft and Food Fair! Whether you are a Business, Organization or Private Individual, we would love to have you set up a Booth!

Every Vendor/Booth Participant is expected to download our Christmas Craft and Food Fair flyer and make 50 copies to distribute to neighbors, friends, family, co-workers and general public at large for the purpose of advertising the Event. This Flyer can be found by clicking on "christmas craft/food flyer" which is on the Site Menu at the top left of this web page.
Every Vendor/Booth Participant is asked to donate 3 medium priced items of their choice for use in a raffle. Please bring your items on the morning of the Fair, Sat. Nov.11, between 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to the front desk. They need to be clearly marked with your Business or Organization's name. The 3 items must be packaged separate from each other so that they can be used in different raffles.
In order to encourage the Fair attendees to visit each and every Booth, a form will be handed to them at the Front Desk. As they visit your Booth, you will need to initial the form in the square that corresponds to your Booth number. When the form is complete, the Fair attendee will turn it in at the front desk and they will be eligible to participate in a drawing for a prize.
As a Vendor/Booth Participant, you will need to pick up your Booth number at the front desk at the time you drop your items for the raffle. Your Booth number must be clearly displayed in the front of your Booth/Table throughout the entire day's event. We will be printing the Booth numbers on a card 16 in. by 16 in. Please bring tape to affix your Booth number.
Also, as a Vendor/Booth Participant, you will be dealing with your customers directly with any transaction and exchange of money for the products/services that you are selling, so please be prepared to do so by having appropriate change, etc.

What is Philoptochos?( Who Are We? )
Philoptochos means "Friend of the Poor"---not only poor in financial resources, but also poor in spirit, poor in health, poor in companionship, poor in emotional stability and poor in whatever is needed to lead a fullfilling life. It was established in 1931. Today it is the largest womens organization in the United States and second largest in the world in terms of financial donations to charitable causes. We support many charities while spiritually enriching our members through their participation in philanthropic work. Philoptochos is open to all women over 18 years of age.
Our Mission: The mission of the Philoptochos Society is to demonstrate God's love for all people and to practice the inspiring message of the parable of the Good Samaritan. It is to take the words of Christ when He says, "For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required" (Luke 12:48), and to show concern and generosity to the less fortunate, the infirm, the hungry and the homeless of this world.
PHILOPTOCHOS PRAYER
God, Who Made us all in Thy Likeness and Lovest all whom Thou Hast Made, reconcile us with one another and with Thee; and as Thy Son and our Saviour, was born of a Hebrew mother, but rejoiced in the faith of a Syrian woman and of a Roman soldier, welcomed the Greek who sought him, and suffered a man from Africa to carry His Cross, so Teach us to look upon members of all races as fellow heirs of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
